Overview
About Me
Born and brought up in India, moved to London for education and stayed there for 6 years.
Worked for a large consulting firm in Bermuda (don't worry, nobody gets lost here despite common belief), managing a team of actuarial (financial risk management) consultants.
Have been a big movie buff all my life and now slowly shifting gears for my career to explore filmmaking, production and movie finance.
This apparently crazy pursuit begins with a short filmmaking workshop at New York Film Academy.
Starting mid-July 2016, on a sabbatical for 6 months - filmmaking workshop at UCLA in August, working on film projects and travelling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Have always been a traveler, it's a part of my life I could never leave behind.
Heard many great stories and experiences from people who've been couchsurfing and thought I should try it.
A lot of friends I've made during my travels come and visit me, stay with me and I do the same by visiting them so thought why not do this at an even bigger scale!
Now that I am on a sabbatical that involves extensive travelling, want to meet as many people as I can!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - wide range of favorites from Nina Simone, Eminem, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Sting, Dire Straits, Amy Winehouse, Bob Marley, Coldplay, Lifehouse... whatever pleases my ears goes!
Movies - Most movies by Christopher Nolan, Edward Zwick, David Fincher, Judd Apatow, Robert Zemeckis and many others, including certain directors from Hindi and European cinema. Hard to pick a favourite but they are mostly there in the IMDb Top 250 list.
Recently been following more documentary movies too as I'm working on a documentary film myself!
Books - Harry Potter, Old Man and the Sea, Shiva Trilogy, Sherlock Holmes and several other cheesy fiction as well as classic stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ran the midnight sun marathon in the arctic circle in Norway. The marathon starts at night and finishes around midnight. The sun never goes down and it's pure awesomeness. On the day the weather forecast was that the temperature will generally be in the mid-70 degrees range, there will be 25% chance of rain and a 4% chance of snow. Guess what? All of them happened within the 4 hours I was running.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to discuss a math problem or discuss finance and insurance concepts, I could probably help.
Otherwise I want to learn as much about filmmaking and film finance and eager to absorb the information I get and share what I know.
I can talk about a lot of random stuff...Not sure what to put here to be honest :P
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook!
Bring alcohol?
Play poker
...and definitely suggest good movies and watch them with you.
