About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Collect memories.
ABOUT ME
A calm and balanced (but full of life deep inside) PhD student of linguistics. I'm rather a listener than a talker and I may therefore seem reserved and unsociable at the first glance, but just let me warm up in the company - a big cup of tea is the best way, some wine will do as well :)
Married to and madly in love with the guy over here:

PHILOSOPHY
There is a subtle difference between not minding and not caring about things. I am trying to develop the former and fight off the latter in myself.
THE aim of a human being is to constantly develop.
Christian-thinking, striving to be a thinking Christian.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had five hosts so far, and all were great! Can't host right now but it is going to change soon, I hope.
Interests
Reading. Not as much as I used to, though, and I'm not happy with that at all. For details, see below.
Singing. In the choir, in the street, in the shower, everywhere (mainly choir stuff, but the Beatles will do if someone's got a guitar).
Foreign languages. Always delighted to learn a few new words or just polish the conversation skills (Right, I'm much more interested in grammar, semantics, pragmatics etc. Just didn't want to frighten you out with the geeky stuff at the beginning).
Things happening around. Rather not parties with ear-and-lung-splitting(?) beats, but any events, concerts, shows etc. are more then welcome. The more the better - especially on holiday...

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: fantasy (Terry Pratchett!), classics, poetry, virtually everything else. Grateful for any recommendations.
Music: classical, jazz and oldies mainly, but I sometimes work like a radio set - just wandering around singing anything I've recently heard. Always open to new sound experiences :)
Watching films is social activity. I can't understand people who spend hour in front of the screen, watching films alone. Hey, there are so many funnier ways to be antisocial!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing is a big word. I'm afraid of big words. Okay, if you insist, then maybe...
Climbing Olympus. I was fourteen at the time and really impressed by the fact itself. Din't meet any Greek gods, but the Creator's touch was to see everywhere.
Teach, Learn, Share
I may teach you some Polish if you wish, or German, or English unless you are a native speaker of any ;P
Cooking together is great fun and I may share the results of the most successful experiments, I'm also eager to learn your cooking secrets ;)
I would love to learn some of your language, or just practice with you.
I probably have some hidden skills or knowledge to share but I can't come up with any right now. The most valuable things often come unexpected - let's surprise each other!
What I Can Share with Hosts
- Company, telling stories, listening to your stories
- I can cook a dinner for us to eat together or, even better, cook something together
- I like promoting my culture by bringing Polish sweets to my hosts - but if you have a particular taste in some other Polish products, just let me know ;)
