About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To grow, to learn, and to change, here and now

ABOUT ME

I was lucky enough to be raised by two phenomenal beings, my mother and my father, who taught me at a young age how big and yet how small the world truly is. As a kid, I followed them from Rangoon to London to Accra to New Delhi, and finally to Baltimore where I finished high school and a rather awkward "American suburban adolescence". I went to California for college, and left a piece of my heart in the Bay Area that brings me back frequently to see my amazing friends there. I moved to Boston for medical school and stuck around after graduation for my first job as a resident doctor. I value greatly the skill of caring for another, and becoming a doctor continues to be one of my greatest journeys.

I love sharing and exploring new music. I love learning new things - past and current favorites for me include languages, dancing, swimming, drumming, cooking, and traveling. There's always a need for a new adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

Adapt and let go.

I think that life is an adventure and a journey, experienced right now. Everything is a teacher as long as we approach it with love and without judgement. The journey outward always mirrors the journey inward.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, I'm growing some roots in Boston and will be here for some time. I'm trying my best to make it to the CS meet-ups and to host folks in my apartment. I've used couchsurfing to travel, crashing with and meeting many amazing people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started off on CS about 4 years ago, attending some of the meet-ups in cities I was visiting or living in. I then started hosting people in Boston, and crashing on a few couches.

Interests

Listening to music: everything and anything. Hip hop, reggae, bhangra, and soul music remain my staples. But I love hearing new kinds of music from electronic to folk. I also play the drums and love to have company.
Food: cooking and eating,
Languages: hearing, learning, and practicing.
Being outside: swimming, hiking, breathing.
