About Me
Hi everyone, I'm Agata and... I lead a double life ;)
Sometimes I like to meet with friends, talk for hours, laugh, share food and ideas, make jokes. I enjoy a company of people and being a part of a group.
Other times I like to be alone, read books, paint, walk in the woods, seat at the sea coast. Work or simply do nothing. I enjoy solitude and silence.
I'm a pastel painter. I started with painting flowers and landscapes, to move to portraits eventually. And this proved to be a perfect choice. I have always been interested in people, their actions, motivations, aims and dreams. I have always tried to observe and understand as much as possible. Now, with painting portraits, my fascination with other people found a new outlet, new way of manifesting itself.
What do I find interesting in people? What would I like to reflect in painted portraits? First of all, truth: who and what they are, together with a moment in which they have found themselves. However, a portrait is not just a study of character, but it also captures a moment, a specific situation. It is a scene from someone’s life caught by me and fixed between frames. A second immobilised to last, both virtually and metaphorically.
