My motto is 'live a life you will remember, you only live once'.
My name is Silvi and I am 20 years old. My nationality is Indonesia and I live there since I was born. This is my first time to go abroad. I got full scholarship for fall semester exchange program. This is my 3rd year in university. In Indonesia I also get full scholarship to go to university and because of this scholarship, I work as a volunteer in a social foundation called Anak-Anak Terang (aat.or.id). In this foundation we help unfortunate children so they can continue get formal education. I really like children. I also like to see people smiling, that's why I like joking and doing challenging activities. I want to spend my youth by doing everything that I want because once we get older, we can't go back and have more responsibilities. So everything that happen in my life, it's because of my choice and I never regret about it. It is better to regret something because you did it than you regret something because you never do it. I really like spending my time with having little conversation with other people. I like to have many long last friends. I like sharing and giving. What I don't like is live fish. I'm affraid with live fish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The first reason is because I am a low budget traveler. But moreover, I want to build good relationship with new people and be good friends with new people. And since I am in Korea for studying now, I want to learn Korean culture (mostly about social behaviour) so I can know what factors that make Korea as a developed country and then compared to my country, by living with Korean. I believe that someday I can make Indonesia better. And my another reason is I want to explore Korea, so I need Korean to explain me better about what I should do or visit in Korea, and of course to know how to get cheapest price during my adventure in Korea.

Interests

I really like joking. My interest during my visit in Korea is to live as real as Korean do. I want to have many Korean friends, because for me, friend is very meaningful and important. Besides that I also want to visit some Korean tourism destination. I will be attracted with amusement park and challenging games like 'I dare you' game. I also like editting photo and funny video. I want to try new foods in Korea as many as I can. Actually I like dancing but I am shy to dance in front of other people, so I usually go to karaoke to sing and dance with my friends. I wish someone can teach me dance in Korea since Korea is very famous with K-Pop dance hehehehe. I really like children and dog. I love taking pictures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really read books because I am easy to get sleepy when I read books. But I do love watching movies and youtube videos. I like Korean drama. My most favourite K-drama is 'Nice Guy / Innocent Man'. I like romance drama because people who are in love, they are happy so I also can be happy. When I am happy, I do anything better, and I will smile and other people will smile too. That's why I really like romance or comedy movie, but not horror movie. I'm listening to Maroon 5's songs and Adam Levine's songs. In K-pop I listen to G-Dragon songs. I also like watching 'We Get Married' reality show and VLOG and tutorial videos in youtube.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before coming to Korea, my one and only dream was I can try to live abroad as an undergraduate student without using my parent's money (because I am not from rich family and I still have a younger sister and a younger brother, so I need to think about their future too instead of my dream). And now I achieve my dream when I am 20 years old. This is totally amazing for me, especially I go to South Korea. I mean even Singapore which is the nearest country from Indonesia, I've never imagined to be there, but now I am in South Korea. Yeay!
Another thing that I thought is amazing is I tried zip-line from height 505 meters and I took video by phone without dropping my phone.
It is very difficult to mention amazing things I've done because every thing I've done is amazing for me. For example I went to Chungju before and had Chuseok in a family there, I rode a very scary vehicles in Indonesia amusement park that I felt I almost died (this is amazing because only me who was brave enough to ride this crazy ride), even when I had my first flight which is directly international flight to Korea was very amazing for me. And now I'm trying my first couch surfing and meet new people is also amazing for me. Everything in my life is just amazing. At least for me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Only story. I don't have much now to give to my host. I really like giving and sharing, but for now what I have is only story and knowledge. And I want to share amazing life with my host.
