ABOUT ME

We both are Polish. Agata is from the north coast (Baltic Sea)- Koszalin, Maciek comes from Zakopane- a town in the Tatra mountains. If you look on a map you notice that we were raised in two opposite endes of the country. The destiny wanted us to meet at the halfway as we were introduced to eachother in Warsaw, at the law firm in which we both worked for 2 years.

The first thing we realized is that we both love to travel. We understand traveling as something totally different to go with travel agency and sunbathing at the hotel pool. For us travelling is to explore the culture and the way of life of the local people without any plan attached. Taking what life brings in every little second and enjoying it at its simplicity.

Knowing the customs, habits, cuisine, history, political and economic situation of the place we are going to is our goal. Why? The reason is ridiculously simple. We are curious. Curious of the world and what it brings with itself.

Life is very short. One cannot deny it. The world is an incredible place where one comes across innumerable cultures. We are aware that it is impossible to know them all, not even most. However we believe that at least we have to try. Neither for the fame, nor the money. For ourselves.

We think that a true knowledge of a culture is a demanding and long process and if one was not upbrought in the environment she/he may never understand it totally. However we can try to learn as much as possible (especially being open-minded) and learn from it. To become wiser.

We have this luck to be here, to be a part of this magnificent world, which is in our opinion the best world one could imagine.

Summing up, it is not about the travel and all these amazing places, it is about exploring new cultures and live like locals do!

PHILOSOPHY

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We were hosts for couple of times. Once a person from France visited us. Even though it was a busy time for us (exams during Legal counsel apprenticeship), we hosted our friend according to Polish hospitality. We were visiting the local places in which we had a great time. We took our friend to taste Polish cuisine, we talked a lot about our countries, economy, literature, history.

Other time we had a visitor from Canada. He stayed in Zakopane with Maciek. We were hiking all week long, eating regional goat/cow cheese "Oscypek", and relaxing at the mountain lake "Morskie Oko" while listening to Bob Marley, and having regional drinks

Batman-animated version), comedies (Kusturica, Zelenka), comedies and action (Lucky Number Slevin, Lock Stock and Ten Smoking Barrels).

Maciek- Backpacking in Spain for three months

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Agata:
University degree and professional knowledge doesn't matter. It is all about changing life experiences and helping each other to be a better man. Wherever you come from, wherever you live.
Btw, I would be more than happy to exchange my cooking knowledge :)

Maciek:
When you go to a place you should know as much as possible about it. Read the local authors, Learn it history, political situation, try to understand it.
