Hi, I'm Agate, I'm a spirit of the sun. I love to travel but at the end of the day i like to return to my home small town in Latvian countryside. I have a wide variety of interests, but i've currently chosen to pursue environmental science at University of Latvia. I'm very passionate about environmental protection, arts and education. I'm a part time geography teacher, shaping young minds, hopefully, for the better. Sometimes i lead tours through my town, which as a rich history. On my days off i enjoy a variety of crafts such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, as well as cooking, hiking, singing, playing the piano or the guitar, and foraging.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a month in the summer of 2021 leading an expedition along the entire Latvian coastline, walked about half of the 500+ km distance. The expediton was for monitoring beach litter and microplastics.
2023 update: i did it again, now i can say i've walked about 95% of the Latvian coastline

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have worked as a tour guide, so i love sharing the history of my home town, my home country and sharing the joy of my traditions. I will introduce you to bits of Latvian cuisine, history and art. Hopefully we can also share a good time together.
