ABOUT ME

I am a recent college graduate. I got my degree in English Education from UWM, and I teach English in a Milwaukee Public School. I have always had an interest in Language, and I'm going to graduate school for an additional license.
I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, and I think I've lived too sheltered of a life. I am joining CS to branch out to all the wonderful people in this world and share my energy and spirit with them.

PHILOSOPHY

I live life to bring joy to others. I chose teaching as a profession because I can meet people from all different backgrounds and reach out to them through education.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had the pleasure of couchsurfing with an awesome host in Los Angeles. It was a cool experience and I'm looking forward to meeting more great people.

Interests

I LOVE teaching, learning, and communicating in any form. I am infatuated with gathering information, which probably explains my slight Internet addiction.

I like seeing live shows, whether they are theatrical performances or bands. I am in a men's choir and I like to do crafty/arty type activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies. I like the range of reactions that good films elicit. I like the gutted feeling after a good drama and I love the high of seeing a great comedy. Many of my favorite movies are from my childhood (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Drop Dead Fred, The Sandlot, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Spice World, and most importantly THE GOONIES). I love comedies (Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Don't Be a Menace, Zoolander, Super Troopers, BRIDESMAIDS, Billy Madison, Death at a Funeral, Step Brothers) and I like indie dramas too. Some other films I love are: Once, Dancer in the Dark, Battle Royale, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, and of course the Harry Potter series.

Music:
I like tons of different kinds of music. My iTunes shuffle is schizophrenic; it goes from bluegrass to cumbia and then to Daft Punk.

Some of my favorite artists are: Adele, Shakira, Dixie Chicks, Keane (best live shows ever!) Robyn, Weird Al, Britney Spears, Frenchie Davis, Bon Iver, Carole King, Cee-Lo Green, the Spice Girls, and Tenacious D. Pretty much anything fun is cool with me.

My favorite book is Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. It is beauty and inspiration on every page. Authors of whom I've read everything they've written: Sedaris, Palahniuk, Morrison. I love the Harry Potter books (especially GoF and DH). I am currently reading "A Raisin in the Sun" with my classes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most beautiful place I have seen is the Island of Capri in Italy. I would love to live there someday.
