Overview
About Me
Life and Work are super hectic right now, especially now that I also decided to go back to school. I'm still trying to host short stays as often as I can. Please be advised that this means I may not be able to give a full tour during your visit.
CURRENT MISSION
Travel the world searching for new experiences and ideas.
ABOUT ME
Growing up in a small resort town taught me to appreciate the importance of community and appreciating environmental beauty. After spending 4 years studying in Dallas, TX I decided to go on a grand adventure which is where I discovered couchsurfing. This place forever impacted my views on the world, and led me down a new path. I'm working to learn, travel, and make the world a better place.
PHILOSOPHY
Worry is the worst use of imagination. Be brave enough to challenge yourself and explore.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to host as often as I can but starting a new company and non-profit keeps me tied up more often than I'd like. Message me and I'll do what I can.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Unsure of my long-term plans near graduation in 2012, I discovered this site and liked the premise. I decided to check out a couple local meetings and the people that I encountered were inspiring. I was hooked on the site and planned a grand adventure where I couchsurfed my way from Dallas through the Rockies to Vancouver, Canada down to Los Angeles and back across to Dallas.
All in all my journey took my over 15,000 miles and initiated some of the most incredible times of my life with some truly amazing people.
I recently gained access to the Standby family access for American Airlines which means that I can fly standby just about anywhere in the world. I hope to use this incredible gift and experience as many cultures as I possibly can in the years to come!
Interests
I thrive on sunshine and outdoor adventure! I'm always trying to experience new things and through the past couple years this site has helped overcome some big fears.
Whether its trying a new restaurant, checking out a new exhibit at a museum, or a new hiking trail I'm trying to expand my horizons as wide as possible.
Nothing beats a party at the beach! Also folks that can fly Stand-by or love to SCUBA hit me up!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a bunch of beach rock (Sublime, Pepper, Dirty Heads, Jack Johnson, etc.) pretty much anything goes though
I absolutely love quality television although I'm trying to watch less.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first trip to Africa was a pretty incredible experience. I conducted my Master's research in Ghana and had the opportunity to visit for the first time in June 2014. Nervous about the Ebola Crisis and traveling to rural parts of the country, the people quickly embraced me despite that 2-1 victory in the World Cup, and I look to return many more times.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have traveled a unique path and might offer a perspective that differs from your own.
Plu, I've read a lot of books about starting companies, and always happy to chat start-up strategy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've seen innocent beauty and I've studied inhumane evil. I feel that I have a very understanding perspective of the world, but acknowledge that my knowledge is no where near complete. I look forward to spending as many days as I can walking in the shoes of others. Then, sharing these unique perspectives with the world.
