ABOUT ME

Moved to Chicago a few years ago with my wife who is a medical resident at Northwestern's hospital in downtown Chicago.

PHILOSOPHY

If you're alive right now you're doing better than most of the people who have ever lived on this planet. If you're on CS (meaning that you have enough money and time to surf the net, host people and/or travel around), then you're probably doing better than most of the rest of the people currently on the planet. So smile a little bit, enjoy it and be thankful.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not so much surfing these days, but I have been hosting guests here in Chicago since 2014. Prior to that, I hosted in Bloomington, Indiana. I'm looking forward to meeting more new and interesting people.

I spent a year traveling around and visiting law schools. During that time, I was able to couchsurf with some of CS' finest.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a more recent arrival than some on this site. I was put on to it by meeting couchsurfers at my buddies' place (Nate, Dusty, Johnson). In the true spirit of CS, they hosted folks from around the world and guys like me that they knew from high school. It seemed there was always some unique soul with a cool story to be found at their place.

So, when I went to visit law schools, I signed up on this site, had a hell of a time in every city I went to, and the rest is history.

I embarrassingly recently discovered that 'peruse' means to read thoroughly. For some reason, I thought it meant the exact opposite. (Although everybody I talk to is under the same impression.) How did this happen? It is the educated person's 'literally.'
