CURRENT MISSION
Don't worry, Be happy... :)?
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live.
The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet. (Frederich Buechner)
ABOUT ME
I’m in my mid-twenties, originally Polish, and currently living in London, where sunny and warm days are so rare that when they come, one feels so happy that they almost don’t know what to do with themselves ;) . I did my BA Degree in Oriental Studies (Japanese) and ended up working in a Japanese corporation after graduation (how on Earth did that happen, I’ve got no idea…), which- to say euphemistically- wasn’t a thing for me. A good thing is that the whole experience made me revisit my fascination with psychology, which at first led me to complete the NLP Practitioner and Life Coaching courses, and in the end drove me to Scotland to undertake the Psychology Conversion MSc. I’m currently working as a Research Assistant in one of the univerisities in London, strengthening my academic portfolio before- hopefully- embarking on an academic “career” in psychology. I'd love to specialise in its clinical aspects with a bent towards positive psychology.
I am a very sporty, very active person, who cannot stay still for longer than a day (and even a day is an achievement for me). I’m absolutely addicted to people and would be very, very unhappy if placed on a desert island. In everything I do, I’m 100% committed (which isn’t necessarily a good thing) and I’m a helpless- though a bit disappointed- romantic :).
I love laughing- even (or maybe especially) if I don't have any particular reason to do so, when I'm sad and really need to cheer myself up. It's even more pleasurable when I have company :)
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I recently went on a month-long trip to the USA, meeting and staying with a bunch of great CS people! I'd love to be able to host someone soon as well, but I've just moved in to my new place in London and so I lack the facilities that would make your stay in my flat as comfortable as my couchsurfing experience was. Until I get an extra mattress and a cosy sleeping bag, I am happy to meet you for tea/coffee/food/drink and show you around :)
Interessen
I love travelling (du-uh, that's why I'm here:), finding out more about the world around me, about it's secrets and impenetrable nature. I'd like to exchange ideas, meet people, share my views with those who would like to share theirs, learn about other cultures, languages, philosophies- anything that would help me expand my horizons :) .
I love writing, drawing, and painting, also reading books- when I've got the time, as usually I'm stuck reading articles and papers on psychology. I'm a total movie maniac and sports crank (I do snowboarding, horse-riding, scuba diving, biking, mountain walking, swimming, Insanity Max 30 Challenge :D ...). I'm also a ballroom dancer and a yogini, hoping to do the teacher's training soon.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Ooh, too much here to even try to list them all- guess I'll have to leave it as a topic for conversation when we meet :)
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I was a co-presenter in a New Year's edition of a famous Japanese TV programme together with a popular Japanese musician/actor. Considering that at the time my Japanese wasn't really that great and I was completely unaware of how big of a celebrity I was working with, I'm tempted to agree that 'fortune indeed favours fools' :P
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
A lot of interesting stories! Food, as I'm a good and innovative cook. An honest and bright smile, as I love laughing and being positive. Any of the skills that you've read about in the sections above- take your pick! :)
