Overview
About Me
I am a 21 year old inventor type, who has been travelling for about a year. It started in February when I hitchhiked along the western coast of Norway, since then I have traveled up the whole coast and gone through Europe. For a longer time now I have recuperated in Berlin.
MOTIVATION: Travelling gives me new ideas, challenges and encounters. For me its the best way to use the skills I have right now. By finding places and people whom I can share my need to create with, I hope to gain new skills and insight.
METHOD OF TRAVELING: My budget is lower than most people traveling, I am currently living from pay check to pay check as a freelance journalist. I write for local newspapers in Norway. I wish to not tax nature and want to rather give something back to the places I come. With these things in mind I choose to travel slowly. Upon till now mostly by hitchhiking. An advantage with slow travel is that I get to experience the sometimes subtle changes in culture and people along the way.
In the coming months I will be using an interrail ticket bought last year. This will be a comfortable change, although I am not finished with hitchhiking:)
ACCOMODATION: I am new to the CS platform, never the less, I have a lot of experience couch surfing. Often I have found accommodation upon arrival through the people I meet. In exchange I offer some kind of help. Like this I have worked in cafés, hotels, done painting jobs and helped with gardening. By now I am used to interacting with new people. I am calm, I keep my things collected, and I do not do drugs or drink excessively.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Going forwards I wish a little bit more predictability;) I have been traveling on a budget for a year now, but mostly relying on connecting with people in the places I come.

Music, Movies, and Books
The reading I have been doing lately is historic books, like the Icelandic sagas. They are somewhat like reading a comic. You get the tropes, and then you don't have to think to much. I like how Snorre Sturlason used the first chapter about the Swedish kings as comic relief in the start of Heimskringla. I am very interested in factual books. Reading Simon Singh gave me a lot when I was young. It is even better when fact and fiction is intertwined. Jules Verne. Or just factual bullshitting. Douglas Adams.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I got 20 thousand people to show up in front of the Norwegian parliament.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to share ideas about everything from people to mathematics. Like learning about niche topics and the inner workings of things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An interested conversationalist. Practical help if needed. Good stories. Hope.
