About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live out of the comfort zone.

ABOUT ME

I do things on a whim but plan them carefully. I'm also very capable of spending an entire day in bed. I am philosophically a libertarian and emotionally a socialist; but I am well aware that both are unattainable ideals. I am cynical about politicians and the political machine; but I recognize their necessity in maintaining stability in the world we live in. I love sports: watching, playing, talking, inventing. I drink and smoke socially; except when I do it by myself. I believe that being a good person is more a micro question than a macro one. I have lots of creative ideas but struggle translating them from theory to reality. I am extremely sarcastic in my humor and I reference movies constantly.

PHILOSOPHY

In 20 years, I'm sure I'll regret the things I didn't do far more than the things I did.

"Don't miss the donut by looking through the hole."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host when I can, surf when I can't.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My coolest couch surfing experience happened outside Bismarck, North Dakota, USA, (capital city of the Middle of Nowhere). My two friends and I met an older couple and the woman's little sister at a/the only bar in Bismarck. One of my friends pretty spontaneously agreed to save the couple cab fare home, drive them the 45 minutes to their house in the middle of godknowswhere North Dakota, and spend the night free in return for the ride. We fit the six of us into our Civic. In the front seat, the two of us who's idea this wasn't were freaking out the whole way because we East Coast city kids had no idea what to expect from rural North Dakotans. When we got there though, we found a nice house with nice people, good food and comfy couches. We wound up have an amazing time, learning a ton about their lives, experiences, and circumstances, and basically finding out that despite the insane differences in our upbringings and native states, we were pretty similar people with pretty similar ideas about the world.
