About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live the life I want
ABOUT ME
I am originally from Houston, TX (but I haven't lived there in a long time). I love travelling and try to go to somewhere new every three months. My travels have taken me all over the USA and some of Europe. I hope to continue my travels to South America and Southeast Asia. I enjoy writing and being outdoors. More importantly, I love to get out and meet new place and see new things.
PHILOSOPHY
I'll sleep when I'm dead.
Also, I actively engage myself to live out of my comfort zone. I try to push my own boundaries--so far I have experienced some pretty neat things while learning about myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm trying to become a more active member. After coming back from a backpacking trip, I moved to Chicago! I've really like the community atmosphere. I've learned that this is a place for travelers (and nontravelers) to experience locations authentically and meet incredible new people. If you want to request a stay, let me know that you've taken the time to read my profile. Otherwise, I won't be responding to your message or deny your request.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a newbie and totally open to anything.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books! Oh my! so many books! My favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut (I think I've ingested every one of his books and most of his short stories) Currently, I'm getting my hands on Norman Mailer and Roberto Bolaño.
For music, I listen to (starting with the classics) Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Thelonius Monk, Stan Getz, Miles Davis Presently, James Blake, Common, A Tribe Called Quest, Knee Body to name a few
Teach, Learn, Share
I've learned to never stop learning-as cliché as that might sound. Too many times, I've seen friends devoted to a routine and become content. Life is about searching for happiness, and I think a constant supply of new knowledge, whether textbook and experience, really enables one to find their own meaning of happiness.
And just a science tid bit because I am a neuroscientist, that olfactory receptor neurons and hippocampal neurons regenerate! how neat is that!
I really want to learn French fluently (as well as a couple other languages).
