ABOUT ME

(2005) i have emotions thoughts, and feelings about things and sometimes those things coincide with other peoples emotions, thoughts, and feelings. Things happen and there is nothing we can do about that. Also, we can make decisions about our lives and it's a dance between these two principles where life happens. I do the best that I can in this world. Someone made this couch surfing thing and I am putting myself out for all to see. what a feeling. to give everyone in the world access to myself through my objective looking at myself. how many people will see these words that, as best as i can do, symbolize a person. This process of writing all of these unfathomable amounts of things is more than just filling out a questionaire. you have to put time and energy and really look at what you have been doing here in the place where you are, naturally, and through this i realize that all these things i write no matter how many are just tiny little snippets of who i am and it's so general no matter how specific you try to be.

(2011)Even though I wrote this six years ago, I still see the seed of truth which has grown from it inside. Things I have learned between that time and now were still there and this gives me joy; that all that we are is inside of us and even as we grow into something we think we weren't, we realize how much of it had been there all along.

PHILOSOPHY

(2005) my personal philosophy has been an ever changing thing for a while but at this point i have different feelings about different things and as long as i am as straightfoward as i can be with myself and everyone else then i can see things as clearly as i can. But like alot of these other profile sections i can't wrap up something like this in one sentence or even a million. so i won't. but I will say that even when going through an extremely positive change in your life, it can still prove to be very difficult in terms of acceptance and vulnerability which are two of the hardest things I think we have to deal with.

(2012) To honor oneself is good. To honor all others is good. To be complete one must do both for therein lies the greatest honor; a reverence for all - in turn, transformation from one drop into the whole of the Great Ocean.

Music, Movies, and Books

Concerning these arts I enjoy them fondly and have enjoyed a wide variety of them in this lifetime so far. At this point, however, I find myself much more drawn to the forms that promote clarity, wisdom, and truth. Of course one may say that these may be expressed in a multitude of ways which is true for everyone differently. But in another respect, from my point of view, there exists an objective truth about life also and depending on my task I'll either choose the objective truth or the subjective truth to handle most appropriately my situation. So in the past few years I listen mostly to Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, and others. I'm a musician so I also listen to what I play and what I play can vary from instrument to instrument. But if I were to put what music I listen to into one word or several that would have the capacity to span several genres then I might say: sacred or of or related to the spirit.I have been reading much of Rudolf Steiner and in correlation with more feeling based works by Rumi, Hafez, and my dear friend Zsolt. Many films are so difficult to ascertain whether they fit together with myself because so much happens in a single second that finding out if taking in what I saw was healthy or not becomes daunting and anyways requires such quick mental responses to read it thouroughly. However, alot of films are very easy to see through and I can easily let them go. But that leaves my choices somewhat scarce. The Lord of the Rings, maybe some Jim Jarmusch films. Note: This section is difficult for me because it deals with very prominent issues concerning how I express myself as an artist. Because art, for me, should be the ideal expression of me, then what I read, what I listen to, what I watch should also reflect the ideals of those artist's. And at a certain point of development one may see such a vast portrait of the shortcomings of artists and their art that such a list may become very sparse. It is a process anyways, and for that I must hold in high regard appreciation for everyone as artists. We all express ourselves. We all strive in different ways to do our best. These varied paths and points on those paths are sacred. We are but to measure, not judge. For judgement is held in the highest regard. We must speak our own truth whatever it may be. In this vein, I strive to see the freely flowing life-blood through the expressions of all. May it be so.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

climbed four peaks in the sierra nevada in a day with my sisters. got caught at 10,000 feet in a thunderstorm with trees crackling all around us and the whole atmosphere was this weird deep blue color and it was so loud and explosive. saw lava rocks rolling off the side of a volcano making a deep hollow sound like embers make but really low in pitch. gained about 10,000 feet in a day backpacking in costa rica. water flowing down a mountain. clouds casting beautiful shadows on the ground. the the earth's light/dark line from an airplane on the clouds below, the infinite physical universe and noticed that therefore everything in it must be infinite. Synchronicity. The Aroura Borealis from an airplane between San Francisco and London. Love.
