About Me

Being a writer and editor, I love stories in all forms. This is the work I have fallen into and love everything about it.

Down to the core I am a real softy and consider listening more important than talking.

I suppose some of my friends would consider me a bit of a jester and a funny fellow but to others, a more caring and timid guy. It's all about context. Different sides of people come out depending on the situation.

I love being around people, for the most part and try my best at being attentive to their needs, even if it puts out my own. I like being respectful to my host culture in every sense of the word and take it quite seriously.

Not to say that I don't mind a drink... all fun within reason.

I have come to Italy, my ancestral home, with Molly, my girlfriend in search of Italian literature. Although I can speak and write relatively confidently, I want to perfect my Italian to the point where I could write professionally and be employed/involved with the arts in some capacity.

We are just starting our first step into our year long journey of Italy and would love to meet and share our experiences with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet thePeople! Without people, the world would be only black and white.

I want to see the locals in their element!

Interests

Language is probably my biggest interest in life, especially when it comes to the minute details of meanings. I love hearing stories from everyone, no matter how grand, special or mundane I want to hear them!

Also, to be a bit more frank---- when shit gets weird. I like it when shit gets-- really really weird. Freaky. Dont fret though, I'm a pretty earnest guy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lets just say I'm not into genre.

Aah, but Opera! That is seriously amazing. I even once treid to learn i pagliacci off by heart, but those were different days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

well the first thing that comes to mind...
Accidentally being thrown into a Tibetan choir and singing the national anthem (a freedom song in honour of the dalai lama) on top of a mountain range in the Himalayas. It may sound tacky, but it took me completely by surprise and was almost in tears toward the end.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will share everything. I am an open book...

What I Can Share with Hosts

This may not be such a great and grand thing for Itlain natives but, I make fantastic gnocchi! No really, if there is one thing that I shouldnt be modest about, it's my gnocchi. If you would like to try my delicious hand-made clouds of heaven, then I will happily make it for you upon request!
I know the Italians have high standards, but my Nonna would be proud of how I fulfill the traditional recipe.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Georgia, Greece, India, Italy, Malaysia, Myanmar, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
