ABOUT ME

I am currently 'studying' organic agriculture under the broad headings of permaculture, market gardening, ecology, agroforestry and mycology. Sounds impressive, but really I'm reading and doing a bunch, that's it.
This is in a community living situation with diverse people from around the world. Love it. Basically, I am a FILTHY, STINKING, LEFTIST FARMER WITHOUT LAND!

As for travelling, I've been delving into the depths of my vast country mostly. From end to end and many times with my thumb or trusty crap-mobiles and tents.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't really been, because I had a van with a bed in the back =)

In the past I've had many 'couch surfing' exchanges, but I never needed to use this website.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept on many many many couches, but not through this site.

My best experiences were hosting (again, not on this site). I was living in and helping run a cafe with anarchist roots in Belleville, Ontario and I hosted a lot of musicians. They ranged from locals to globals and from loud to quiet nights, but they were always pleasurable. Sitting up at 3am talking to someone about their travels with a cup of tea, a beer or a pipe is always nice.

Interessen

I like hiking, biking, swimming, exploring, cooking, reading, digging, chopping, sawing, thinking, tinkering and probably other things.

Don't really watch movies, no tv to watch it on.

Books change like music, but here it is:
Anything permaculture because the takes and practices vary so much by author. Coppicing too right now, mycology. Last fiction I enjoyed was Stephen King's Dark Tower series and I re-read the Hobbit because I hadn't since I was a kid.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I would like to learn & teach more about gardening, permaculture, mushrooms, forestry, exploring, building.

I am also a pretty decent cook (vegan mostly, but I eat anything if it's ethical), I can make some nice bread and would like to learn more about fancy baking (pastries, rawfood 'baked' goods, pies and cakes why not?) I also make a mean ass pizza crust.

I would also not mind learning how to dance a bit better, I'm all legs and when it comes to dancing, two left feet. Damn you, self-conciousness!
