About Me

CURRENT MISSION

visiting new places

ABOUT ME

I would describe myself as patient, honest and shy (at least when I first meet someone). I am a bit of an introvert. I tend to be calm and meditative most of the time but I do enjoy company and I like meeting new people. I am curious and eager to learn about almost anything that attracts my attention.
PHILOSOPHY

Es muss sein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm free to go out for drinks or coffee. I can show you around my city or my area (I live in the suburbs of Buenos Aires)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed for a few days with a German girl called Michaela when I traveled to London and attended Couchsurfing meetings in Oxford and Edinburgh. I also stayed 5 days in Edinburgh with Kadri and Gabi and a couple of nights with Stjepan in Zagreb :)

Interests

A lot! Literature, movies, music, gastronomy, i.e. art in general I guess. I have a degree in scientific and literary translation (EN-SP). I love music, I have been meaning to learn how to play an instrument for a while without much success. I am currently taking some ukulele lessons.
I like learning other languages: in addition to studying translation I am currently studying French. I tried to learn German before (twice!) but gave up on it. Nevertheless I plan to start all over again at some point in the future. I'd like to learn Russian and Irish Gaelic as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I really enjoy going to the movies. I like Hollywood movies and independent films alike (I do hate action films). The Lobster, God Help the Girl, Inside Llewyn Davis, old Woody Allen movies (although I did like Blue Jasmine and Irrational Man), The One I Love, The Sacrament, The Witch, We Need to Talk About Kevin, Inglorious Bastards, Her, Inside Llewyn Davis

Books: dystopian novels are still among my favourite and also philosophical novels. I love DH Lawrence and Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Slaughterhouse-five, The Bell Jar, Women in Love, The Handmaid´s Tale, Franny and Zooey

Music: swing, folk, indie, alternative rock..
Elliott Smith, The Magnetic Fields, Edward Sharpe, Death Cab for Cutie, Belle and Sebastian, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Courtney Barnett

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-The night sky in Cabo Polonio, Uruguay. I have never seen so many stars in my life. Truly amazing.

-Kayaking and sailing with my uncle in Brazil as a kid.

-Seeing Radiohead live

-Standing on the edge of the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach both Spanish and English and I'm willing to show anyone around my city. I am into learning about other cultures (of course this includes traditional dishes)and languages (Russian, German and Irish Gaelic in particular).
