About Me

Hi there couchsurfers! My name is Agustín, I'm 22 years old and I'm an Argentinian exchange student in a French university (I think that sums it up well). It's been almost two months since I'm in this lovely village called Blois living with another three Argentinians friends that are doing the same as me.

What do you need to know about me?

I come from an amazing place called Mendoza, a large city next to the mountains, literally known as "land of sun and good wine", so you'll figure that it's a rather wonderful place to live.

People are my biggest passion, it might be an odd thing to say, but I think it's the best way to describe it because I'm never happier that when I'm having a good time surrounded by friends (even if I have just met them).

I'm also a big fan of football (as 90% of the Argentinian population), but I enjoy sports in general, and by that I mean practicing them, watching them, talking about them... ok I think you probably got the idea.

I'm a little bit of a nerd myself and I love to learn new things, it doesn't matter if it is from books, courses, conferences, YouTube videos, movies or anything, but of course I always prefer if knowledge comes from an interesting conversation.

I used to have a fluid English, but now it's getting a little bit mixed up with French, that is actually starting to get more fluid. I had been also studying Italian for the past year, it's a little bit buried these days but with pacience I think I'm able to hold a conversation. Any chance to practice this languages it's more than welcome, but also any chance to let my mind rest and speak some spanish is welcome as well.

This is probably getting too long, so I'm going to finish by saying I love music, all kinds of music (rock, indie rock, pop, rap, trap, reggaeton) with a special mention to classical music. I also know a tiny bit of musical theory and composition and I can play 2 or 3 notes in the piano.

I hope my presentation wasn't too boring, if you want to know me better you can probably reach me through my social media. Best wishes to you all!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's always been a dream for me to travel and get to know a little bit more of the world, so you could say that I'm currently living my dream. It's been great so far, but it is only the beginning and I'm really looking forward to meet tons of new people and to continue to visit great places.

I guess that's when couchsurfing comes in. Being here in France it's a great point to start my journey, but the oportunity to meet all these wonderful places in Europe in the company of kind people that share the same adventure spirit it's definitely even more appealing.

I mentioned before that I'm living with 3 Argentinians mates, we have a big appartment with four rooms and two beautiful couches waiting in the living room, so we'll be happy to receive you if you're cool and interested.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite artist in the whole world is Ed Sheeran, I love several international bands and artists such as Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Twenty One Pilots, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift. I also like some old bands like The Beatles or Queen. I enjoy listening to classical music, Bach Cello suites are my favorite pieces.

Of course I love the music from my country and Latin America in general. I recommend you to listen to some old rock (Soda Stereo, Charly García, Spinetta), something more recent (La Vela Puerca, La Skandalosa Tripulación, Pasado Verde), some urban music (WOS, Duki, Tini) and some reggaeton (Bad Bunny, Don Omar, Daddy Yankee).

My favorites films are Lord of The Rings, Gladiator, Pearl Harbor, Harry Potter, Invictus and so on. I love movies and TV shows but I don't usually have much free time to enjoy them.

I used to be a great reader, but I stopped at college (I already had enough reading in my life, also the time problem). I wish to get use to it again someday, I still love books. I have read almost everything that there is to read in terms of fantasy. I think Game of Thrones is probably the hardest and best I have ever read.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share a beer or a bottle of whine and a good conversation, I think it's the best thing you can share. I would also be pleased to have someone around to show me those spots of the city that you only get to know when you're living somewhere.
