CURRENT MISSION

Just getting back to host Couch Surfers. Had taken time out but I am now back on track. I think it has been about 10 years since I hosted last. Please excuse any mistakes in my profile, the website has changed a lot since the last time I was here and I am not yet used to the new looks etc.

ABOUT ME

Well, I suppose you could read the references, that probably gives you a better view rather than me trying to describe myself. And feel free to send me a message if you like to know something in particular. One thing is possibly important to mention, I am not living an alternative lifestyle. I do eat unhealthy, I like good roads and I like the comfort of a central heating in the winter and my political views are neither left nor right, mainly liberal. Nevertheless the beauty of the landscape and the proximity to the sea are definitely some of the reasons why I stay here. Having fun and meeting interesting people, that matters most I think.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After I hosted for one year I tried surfing myself. I was in Dortmund and Hamburg and I was all happy. There is no better way to experience people and places if you like more than the usual tourist way of things. I also got to know myself better, I 'exposed' myself to people which I would never meet otherwise and I think I am a more open person since I had all those great people around me. I am really happy to take part !!

Weekend 16th to 18th of July 2010: A great weekend with a full house. Hiking, Pub, House Party and cooking together with:
Jim Beam, Cassidy, Belle of Belfast, DAYO, Aurora Nowak, REBECCACITA, Laure and Damien Vallot
I hope more such weekends will come !!

Summer 2010: Was VERY busy, the first year where I had almost continuously 3 - 7 Couchsurfers and WWOOFers in the house. That seems to be a cool mix between people on a longer stay and the short stay people. It creates a bit dynamic in the house and people are not so much left in the dark because some others are around which have seen a few things already and can give insider tips of what to do around the area. I hope to continue that way of hosting in 2011.

2011 was a strange year, many people just stay one night and have no time to actually socialise. Not again for me, I am not a hostel. So from 2012 I do strictly 2 nights minimum.

2024: I am back on CS, also hosting HelpX and Workaway. So the house might be busy. I have move to a different house with only one spare bedroom but still in lovely Ahakista

Meeting interesting People, Nice Food (does NOT mean healthy food), Party, IT, Boats, All sorts of tricky projects........

Music: All sort of music, these days I am listening to Rammstein and Radiohead a lot but in general it depends on my mood.

I am not a good teacher, I would be too impatient. Life is the best teacher anyway.
