LOVE to travel, be it 30 miles or 6,000 miles from my home here in Anchorage, Alaska. I've visited many places for months or weeks at a time including states across the US, Canada, western Europe, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Jamaica, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Cayman islands, Bahamas, Colombia and I hope to only add to this list while beginning my contribution to this community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy connecting with people from around the world, learning about new customs and cultures along the way. I am happy to open up my home to travelers and someday hope to couchsurf myself.

One of my fondest travel memories took place while backpacking across Europe for a month with a friend. We had been travelling by train all day and by night we arrived at the train station in Montpellier, France thinking we'd be catching a connecting train that'd carry us to our final destination. Turns out we misread the train schedule and there was no connecting train that night, the train station went dark so we began to wander the streets in search of a hotel.
Every hotel we came across read no vacancies and we began to lose hope until a local couple approached us on the street, seeing that we were lost and unfamiliar with the area, they offered to let us sleep in their living room until the next morning.
We stayed up for a few hours sharing stories of our travels with them over tea and it turned out to be a very special travel experience leading me to find this couchsurfing community.
