关于我
Hi, I'm Ahhyun.
I grew up in Korea and moved to the U.S. about six years ago for college.
I love research, running, authentic connections, and spontaneity in life.
Some keywords that describe me are curious, adventurous, laid-back, and open-minded. When I was 19, I traveled solo in Europe for four months, and later I spent another four months living in Denmark for school.
Like I said, I love research. I’m currently working as a research coordinator at Dartmouth College, studying AI and mental health. My goal is to specialize in suicide prevention and explore how AI can help us better understand when and how suicide happens, so we can provide the right support at the right time.
I’m in a stage of life where I want to explore my identity outside of work. Right now I’m focusing on running, climbing, and jazz (I’m learning jazz piano), and I’m always open to trying new things to see what resonates with me.
No worries about me as a guest — I know how to be a quiet Asian girl in the house :) And if you’d like, I’d be happy to cook Korean food! I love cooking, so just let me know if you’re in the mood for KBBQ or soft tofu soup.
One small disclaimer: if you ever catch me smiling at odd times in a conversation, it probably just means I didn’t quite understand your English — but I promise I’ll catch up!
Another disclaimer: I'm not looking for someone to date. Period.
I've join this awhile ago but this is my first time hosting/being a guest! (9/2025)
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
I’m always updating my thoughts on how to live, and one of the best ways I’ve learned about life is through learning from people. My experiences while traveling have made me more open to Couchsurfing. Exchanging different worldviews always amazes me — it reminds me how small the world I’ve lived in can feel, and how much more there is to learn. I would love to see how you live and learn more about how people live in your area.
I believe making authentic connections is one of the true beauties of life. I’d love to get to know you, and thank you in advance for being open-minded about hosting me or letting me host you someday!

Book: Man's Search for Meaning: An Introduction to Logotherapy
- It inspired me to take a solo trip after graduating high school, to follow what I truly want to do in life, and to pursue my love for psychology.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I’m the type of person who likes to do random things in life sometimes. Here are a few examples:
1. I once made cotton candy corn dogs and sold them to random people.
2. I gave myself a buzz cut.
3. I decided to go skydiving at 3 a.m. and actually did it at 8 a.m. the same day, lol.
4. I published three magazines just for fun.
教,学,和分享
I can teach you how to make Korean food, in true Korean style.
I would also love to learn a new language. I’m especially interested in Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese) or Spanish, if possible.

I’m a respectful and tidy guest. I’ve lived with other people for the past four years and also traveled solo for four months. I’ve dog-sat a few times as well, and I’d be happy to help walk your dog or cat-sit if you ever need. And if you’d like to explore San Francisco someday, I’d be more than happy to host you and show you around this amazing city!
