About Me

Hello fellow CouchSurfers! My name is Ahmed Baraka, and I'm a space enthusiast with a lifelong dream of contributing to humanity's journey towards becoming a multi-planetary species. I'm passionate about space exploration and dedicated to helping emerging space nations join this incredible race. My interest lies not only in reaching the stars but also in leveraging space technology to benefit life on Earth and advocating for the peaceful use of outer space.

But my interests don't stop at the cosmos. I have a profound appreciation for nature and often seek refuge in its tranquillity, away from our bustling life. Camping under the stars, immersing myself in different cultures, and meeting new people are experiences I cherish deeply. I believe that travel and cultural exchanges enrich our lives in unimaginable ways.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined CouchSurfing to connect with like-minded individuals who share a love for exploration, whether it's space or our beautiful planet. I'm excited about the prospect of sharing stories, learning from your experiences, and building lasting friendships. For me, CouchSurfing is not just about finding a place to stay; it's about the unique experiences and perspectives each of us brings to the table.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Embarked on an extraordinary three-day adventure in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Granada, Spain, simulating life on Mars. This analog mission was a unique blend of challenge and discovery, where our team faced the elements with very limited food, water supplies, and minimal contact with the outside world, maintaining only a crucial connection with our Mission Control Room. This experience was not just a test of survival skills but also a journey into the unknown, mirroring the challenges faced by astronauts in space. It was a test of resilience, adaptability, and team spirit, and it stands as a vivid reminder of our incredible capacity for exploration and discovery.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am passionate about teaching and sharing my knowledge of space technology and its vast potential for advancing human civilization. My expertise in this field could spark fascinating discussions, and I'd love to share insights into the latest developments in space exploration and its implications for Earth.

In terms of learning, I am always eager to broaden my understanding of different cultures, especially their approaches to technology and innovation. Learning about different perspectives on space exploration and environmental sustainability from around the world fascinates me.

I'm also keen to share and learn new camping skills. Whether it's mastering the art of setting up a tent in challenging environments or sharing tips on minimalistic living in nature, I believe there's always room for growth and fun in these activities. Additionally, I'm interested in learning more about local customs, traditions, and the daily lives of the people I meet during my travels.

Overall, I see CouchSurfing as a wonderful platform for mutual growth, cultural exchange, and creating a shared understanding of our world, both here on Earth and beyond.
