About Me

It's already difficult to talk about yourself; let alone write about yourself to a computer. To give it a shot... I've recently learnt that i enjoy 'real-life'. And by that i mean the time when i found comfort in failure and when i finally started to let go of trying to align the ambition i've had for myself with what those closest to me expected of me. And it was no easy balance!

I believe in doing what you're passionate about, and if it's not significant you don't have to do it. I also believe in surrounding myself with the right people. I go by continuously getting myself out of comfort zones to learn and grow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Am new to the community. I've recently started couchsurfing and stayed with two hosts so far and looking forward to stay with the other confirmed hosts.

So far i can't wait to start hosting when i get back home as i understood its all about the cultural exchange, and making new friends who are passionate about the cities they live in.

Interests

I always ask myself, shouldn't this age and time we currently live in be the most interesting. We've seen more in the future than any other humans in history, and we've see way back in the past than any other in history... Add to that, the rate of change we're experiencing is blazingly fast.

That's why i like to see more, listen more and travel more. I enjoy understanding other cultures and how civilisations have developed - above all Reading and good food. But these are only some of the things I got the chance to discover and become passionate about so far. I still think that this is the only time in history we've extended our line of sight to learn and see more.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
Extended melodical and harmonical motifs are the themes to the Music i like, which by default, makes me like anything from Rock to EDM as long as the main theme reoccur or resurface on the same song!

MOVIES
I enjoy drama, and more recently international cinema.. away from hollywood... i liked the persian 'a separation'. In general, i've probably watched more than 1000 titles ranging from blockbusters to independent productions. I like movies as a medium of art and think there are still more to come.

BOOKS
Though to say... I guess for every occasion/context, there's a book for that! That's why i try to carry my Kindle with me... But from the top of my head, i like both biographies and auto biographies, personal memoirs and history books in general. You read and forget, but one that i always remember is Viktor Frankl's 'Man's search for Meaning'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dropping out of college... and i only quote from a book i recently read: 'Higher education is the place where people who had big plans in high school get stuck in fierce rivalries with equally smart peers over conventional careers like management consulting and investment banking.'

Teach, Learn, Share

After a few minutes of research trying to understand what the team at couch surfing meant by “Teach, Learn, Share”... i cant think of what i should write... Instead i zoned out reading blog article after blog article of totally unrelated things and suddenly am reading about a rare language comprehension disorder (i really don't remember how i got here) but i guess this by itself should suffice as a good write up for this section. I am down to discover new things/experiences, discuss ideas/thoughts/comments/opinions and concerns from anyone and share experiences.

No matter who you are or where you are am sure i'll learn a lot from you, perhaps more than you think you can do... Likewise, i hope i'll be able to share or teach something if there is.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I guess it varies from host to host.. I'd love to know how, so please do let me know how i can help in a very meaningful and significant way.
