Hi, we are Adi and Ahmed.* we have a joint profile for travelling, but we do not host together as we are in a long distance relationship. If you are coming to canterbury to be hosted-Only Ahmed will be able to host in his flat.Please make sure you understand that as we do not want to give people the impression we are hosting together as that may also be a reason some people would send a request * We both believe in the positive energy of smiles, politeness and communication . Ahmed -I am a Phd student at University of Kent , Canterbury , UK specializing in International Law. Currently also teaching at the University of Kent. Living in Canterbury for the Last 3 years as I also did my Masters here. Grew up mostly in Pakistan, in the coastal city of Karachi. Practiced Law for a few years then decided to switch to academia. Hoping to stay as a teacher and researcher.

Adi- I am a masters student at Phillips university of Marburg on my way to complete the second part of my two year degree on Peace and Conflict studies. I did my BA in English from Minnesota Morris University in the US. Immediately after came to the UK at University of Kent to start the first year of my two year masters degree in peace and conflict. Ahmed and I met at University of Kent at an Indo-Pak societies meet up. We have been together since, even while i now live in Germany and he is based in Canterbury. I am a part time poet, singer, and love discovering new music genres from around the world. I have lived in Oman, India, US, England so far.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love to travel together, get to know the cultures of different places, the cuisine since we both love food! CS provides a view into the opinions of the locals/residents and just makes travelling so much more interesting!.

Ahmed is able to host-has done so far- while i (adi)am unable to due to a difficult house situation. Although if anyone wishes to be hosted in Canterbury, i am sure Ahmed would be happy to take your requests.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a good indie film made with heart, good direction and an amazing story line. I am sucker for a good story, good characterization played out well. So even if its films like Interstellar or The Godfather, or smaller drama films like Orange August county, I like movies as art that is done well beyond entertainment value. But I am all up for a good action flick based on comic book characters, so I love the Marvel movies coming out.

Books: Classics like Oscar wilde, H.G Wells, sucker for good fantasy series: Robin Hobb, J R R Tolkien, Ursula Leguin, classic Science fiction like Dune , Foundation series.
