Overview
About Me
Hi there! I’m Ahmed, a curious globetrotter who has recently landed in Germany after an exciting chapter in Estonia. I thrive on making meaningful connections, learning about new cultures, and sharing a good laugh. My friends say I’m an INTJ with a knack for organizing things and turning visions into reality—but don’t worry, I also know how to relax with a good cup of coffee or a deep conversation.
My life is a blend of professional focus and personal creativity. By day, I work in IT transformation, turning complex problems into smooth operations. By night (and on weekends), you might find me exploring local history, testing out new recipes, or organizing language exchange events like Blabla to connect people from different walks of life.
Travel for me is more than just visiting places; it’s about immersing myself in stories—whether it’s the rich history of medieval Europe or the vibrant atmosphere of a bustling souk. I’m particularly passionate about reviving cultural experiences, like historical cuisine and traditions, and dreaming up ways to share them with others.
I enjoy a good balance of spontaneity and structure. Whether it’s a lively discussion about Germanic tribes, a laid-back movie night, or a quick day trip to a charming little town, I’m all in! Oh, and foodies rejoice—I’m the kind of person who can cook up a big batch of Bolognese and have it ready for a quick meal, always happy to share.
On Couchsurfing, I hope to exchange stories, experiences, and maybe even some language tips! So whether you’re looking for an engaging conversation partner, a fellow adventurer, or just someone to share a hearty meal with, I’m your guy.
Looking forward to meeting fellow explorers and creating memorable experiences together!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe travel isn’t just about seeing new places; it’s about connecting with people and experiencing the world through their eyes. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to make those connections—sharing stories, cultures, and perspectives that go far beyond guidebooks and tourist traps.
I’m here because I love the idea of building a global network of friendships, where we can help each other feel at home, no matter where we are. Whether it’s hosting or being hosted, I see Couchsurfing as a two-way exchange where everyone grows richer—not in money, but in experience and connection.
For me, Couchsurfing is a chance to:
• Dive into local cultures and learn about life from the people who live it.
• Share my own experiences, whether it’s cooking a meal together, swapping stories, or just having a good laugh.
• Expand my horizons and build friendships that last beyond a single trip.
At the end of the day, I’m on Couchsurfing because I want to be part of a world that’s more open, welcoming, and connected.
Interests
Where do I start? My interests are as diverse as my Couchsurfing dreams! Here’s a glimpse into what lights me up:
• History Buff: From the Umayyad Caliphate to the Holy Roman Empire, I’m fascinated by how civilizations shaped the world we live in. I’m always ready for a deep dive into legends, architecture, and historical trivia!
• Food Enthusiast: Cooking is my therapy. Whether it’s crafting a batch of homemade Bolognese or trying out ancient recipes, I love experimenting with flavors and sharing a meal with good company.
• Languages & Cultures: I thrive on language exchanges and cultural discoveries. I’ve organized Blabla language meetups and love learning what makes every culture unique.
• Exploration: Whether it’s wandering through cobblestone streets, hiking in nature, or visiting historical sites, I enjoy exploring every nook and cranny of a place.
• Creative Visionary: I’m passionate about projects that breathe life into history—like themed restaurants or immersive cultural experiences. Dreaming up ideas and connecting them to the modern world excites me!
• Movies & Storytelling: A good movie, a gripping story, or a fascinating documentary—I love narratives that inspire or take me on an emotional journey.
At the heart of it all, my interests are about connecting: to people, places, and experiences. Whether we’re chatting about history, cooking together, or swapping travel tales, I’m excited to find common ground and learn from others.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a broad taste in music, I listen to anything and everything! from the protuguese fado to the latest orchestras of Sami Yusuf, some Turkish mystical sounds from Omar Faruk Tekbilek, and of course Egyptian artists like Hamza Namira and Mohamed Mounir.
Movies, like:
• Into the Wild
• The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
• Pay It Forward
• The Help
As for books, I’m currently reading works from Gallup, like Gallup Global Rise of Unhappiness, alongside technical books on leadership, management, and self-improvement—especially those focused on happiness and fulfillment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I danced with my friends in the center of Chengdu, China on some music that we liked. People gathered around us and thought that we are performing, so we kept going, a little later they started to put in money for our performance!
Teach, Learn, Share
I taught English for summer camps in Morocco, I am willing to teach English and also learn a new language, either Russian or German, and also gain some experience in professional mountain climbing and surviving in the wilderness.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with them some laughs over a beer, a nice story or interesting conversation, emotional support (I am a trained listener). I provided psychological and emotional support for people in need online as a volunteer on 7cups.com
