About Me

You get a room and you get a room and everybody gets a room - for freeeeee

Hey guys, it’s me your friendly neighbourhood student-man from Heriot-Watt University. I am half-Turkish half Potato. Just kidding I am fully potato looking for flatmates during summer.
Here is the deal:
-My flatmates will come back early September. Meaning, there are two bedrooms available for you, yes you.
-Double room starts from 1st June until 3rd September. Single room is available from 15th June till early Sep.
Double room has a balcony, and will cost £0 per week. Single room is £0 pw. Yes, including bills, internet and sometimes ultra-delicious Turkish food, and sharing hilarious memes. I can provide bed sheet and pillow case too.
-The flat is on Gorgie Road, just 12 seconds away from the bus stop if you are Usain Bolt. To whom do not know where Gorgie is, it is 15 mins* away from the city centre, 15 mins* away from Heriot-Watt, 645 mins* to London and 5 mins* to Pizzeria 1926 –Their pizzas are yummy-. There is even a helicopter aerodrome near here in case you're wondering other means of transportation.
*bus travel time- if you have a train, things change. If it is high-speed train, oh dear.
-Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Eastern European food market, halal market and plenty other markets and restaurants and Mcdonalds are just by the flat.
-You can call me on skype or Ahmet, it is up to you (got it huh got it). So I can show the flat and myself that I am actually not a crazy-psycho. More about myself; I like to spend some time with my flatmates but I value my own time too. I am usually quiet but I sing loudly while doing the dishes. You can hear me screaming "with or without youuuuuuu- by U2". You can also sometimes hear some seagull voices in the house, don't worry, it will be me laughing at funny videos.
-My sister lives with me (update!! She's gone back to Turkey permanently☹️) so we’ll be four. Sometimes three, maybe nine. Kidding, no nine😁 (Update!-we tried; we stayed 9 people in my flat for a night. It was a terrible experience for those who had to pee.)
-More and more about me and my sister: she has just finished her PhD and I am a third year PhD. We both are Muslims so we don’t eat pork, don’t drink alcohol. We don’t party, unless it is a sushi party or pizza party or chicken wings party or Batman marathon with a lot of dessert and ice-cream. All joking aside, I will be at the office and working every day and my sister is an energetic person who will do some stuff I guess.
- I don't mind going out for parties or night outs. In fact, it might be good for you to go out at nights with me as I'm sober all the time. Some one to carry you home when drunk eh!
- Guess who has a piano and a headphone and a TV and a water dispenser on the fridge. A tap on the fridge is like out-of-this world dude. The tap in the bathroom is mixer tap meaning there are not two separate cold-hot taps, guys, this is something. We also have Netflix and Chromecast and an okayish TV. So we watch Brooklyn nine-nine 24/7. And guess who has a car to pick you up from the train station: not me sorry. !!! Update!!! I have taken up driving lessons. my aim is to get the driving license by 2024. :dedicated face:

-The last but not the least, we don’t use outside shoes inside the flat. If you have left your keys in your room, you will have to remove your shoes, otherwise you will be exposed to my intense and penetrating gaze. Once you see the cleanliness of the carpets, you will agree with me :D The five second rule is 5 minute here. And no pets and smokers, sorry :(

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To host people as I have availability at my place 👍If there's no availability, at least I would like to help the visitors that before they arrive at Edinburgh, they can learn a few tips. Like where you can find the best staplers. You may never know when to need a stapler. It is the most underappreciated item in stationery history.

To meet new people.

As my friends all have gone back to their home towns, It would be nice to hangout with new faces during the summer. I don't mind night outs 👍

Music, Movies, and Books

Wowwowwow, take me to a dinner first!

Naah kidding!

If I type them here, what else can we talk about when we meet?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I brushed my teeth with laundry bleach and washed my hair with fabric conditioner. None of them worked. Maybe worked, I don't know. Come and see.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Turkish words, maybe a little cooking, or earthquake design of multi-degree freedom elastic structures using spectra.

If my house isn't available to host you, at least I may try to show around the city as your tour guide. I don't know the history of Scotland and I don't the background stories of the buildings in Edinburgh, but I watched Braveheart. So I feel confident.

I also know the best Japanese, Indian, Italian, Mexican and Turkish restaurants in Edinburgh. My friends and I tried probably all of them and after hours of serious discussions, we came up with a list. They are mostly student friendly places so if you're expecting something posh, sorry can't help. I mean if you felt like you have seen a mouse going out of the restaurant, probably you really have. I am kidding, don't worry, or am I 🧐
