About Me

I left my home, again, but this time I have kind of a plan. I'm drawn to Amsterdam and this summer I'm exploring how I will move there. For fun and relaxation I like to do things like ecstatic dance, acro yoga, cuddle, contact improvisation, improv theatre, singing, drum circles, yoga, play fighting, etc. Basically, if it involves authenticity, connection, creativity, and/or touch I'll want to try it.

I also quit my job, again, but this time I have a plan for that too. My passion is Nonviolent Communication. In very short: it's a way of seeing the world that allows everyone's needs to be met. It's applicable to basically all fields of life, such as personal development, relationships, decision making, education, and parenting. Instead of working for money doing something that contradicts what I believe in, I will live off my savings while finding ways to share this with others. I trust that people will want to give back to support me in doing this before I run out of money to sustain myself :)

IF YOU WANT TO SURF

NOTE: not able to host atm because of lack of home.

I’m in this for the personal meetings. I therefore appreciate a well-written personal request that shows that you have taken the time to read my profile. The best way to do so is to simply mention why you want me in particular to host you. I'm generally not able to accept more than a week or so in advance, nor more than two nights at a time. Last-minute requests are ok, but if I'm your tenth attempt I'm probably not the right guy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's always about the people. Wherever you go and whatever you do it's the people you meet who makes the memories fond. I hope that I will learn, teach, and share something real with everyone I get to know. That they leave little mark in me, and I in them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer to sing and play together rather than listening to music. But when I listen it's for music that touches you.

Does it make you reflect? Love yourself and others? Live fully? Appreciate the written word? Then I want to read it.

Currently reading mostly about communication, teaching, and changing the world.

Not reslly watching movies anymore. It's hard to find anything that isn't based on the narrative that the good guys have to punish the bad guys.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Simply meeting so many wonderful, inspiring, and real people while travelling and through CS.

Teach, Learn, Share

Funny, three years ago I wrote:

"I want to learn how to play a handpan, dance, ride a unicycle, do a handstand, dive, surf better, poi, improvise, slackline, massage, cook exciting dishes... anything really!
I want to practice more yoga, meditation, and the guitar.
And learning to do less :)"

And now I realise that I can teach you how to play the handpan, dance barefoot, handstand, slackline, and perhaps some basic massage. Kinda sweet to realise. And reassuring to see that dance (CI) and massage is still something I'd like to get more into. Wonder what I've learned in another three years... Maybe improv theatre?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to think that maybe I can be an example of that there are other ways of living than the life we assume we have to fit into.
