Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Back when I was younger, I hitchhiked around the States and around Europe. When I was just out of school, I lived in New York City, and had a regular stream of friends crashing on my couch. I'm older now, and don't travel as much, but I still try to visit others and to make my space open.

2023 Update: A lot has gone on with me over since I wrote that, and since I joined couchsurfing nearly two decades ago. With recent changes in my life, I'm reconnecting to the community.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

For music, I like just about everything. I try to make it to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival every year.

For movies, I like foreign and indy art films, both classics and contemporary. I especially like the films of Andrei Tarkovsky, Wim Wenders, and Luis Bunuel.

For books, over the past few years I've been focusing on novels that come from a different cultural context than my own. It is a long list. Follow me on GoodReads to see what I read.
