Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm a writer and PhD student in U.S. romantic literature from Annapolis, Maryland, currently living, working, and studying in Nuremberg, Germany.
Some of my favorite things are thoughtful conversations, cooking and eating tasty food, and sharing writing. I really enjoy reading my own poems with people, and am also eager to read others' work. I speak English natively, Spanish and German fluently, OK French, and am learning Italian.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel, and help out fellow travelers. Learning new cultures is a deeply enriching process, and Couchsurfing is a unique way to explore local culture, as such special people tend to use it. It's wonderful to be able to exchange ideas/care instead of money.
Interests
I write and am fond of passionate talks about books, ideas, cultural theory -- but really I just like meeting and talking with people! I love meeting people from different cultures and considering new ways of living. I also really appreciate getting to know a place by its food, drink, and outdoors.
Music, Movies, and Books
Literature: Romantic poetry, East Asian mysticism and religion, cultural theory, contemporary poetry.
Music: Rock & roll, jazz, blues, country & Western.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I am happy to practice or teach English with guests and hosts who might be interested in doing so. I am also more than pleased to give some insight into U.S. literature/culture and creative writing. I'm also happy to practice Zen sitting meditation with you.
Learn:
I'd love to learn from your life experiences and your local culture, your own ideas, your writing, art, work. One of my favorite reasons for CouchSurfing is learning from people who live or think differently than me and people I know.
Share:
Poems, beer/wine, vegetarian food: I really enjoy cooking for people!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Most importantly again, I love to talk with people and make new friends. This is what I most look forward to sharing.
