Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to return to my country of origin (Dominican Republic), for the first time as an adult, to see and learn as much as possible in the two months I will be there.
ABOUT ME
I am a Dominican born, American raised 38 yr-old female. I was raised in NYC, Texas, and Massachusetts (mostly). I'm laid back, usually possitive, and always hopeful. My favorite thing to do in the world is travel. My travels have taken me to Spain, France, Italy, England, Ireland, Netherlands, Mexico, Canada, and several states in the U.S. My ideal job would be as a travel writer/photographer. I'm a people person who loves to socialize. A bottle(s) of decent red wine, good food and good conversation is my idea of a perfect evening. I look forward to meeting good, fun, and interesting people everywhere I go.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is: Live and let live. In my travels I have found that people are more alike than they are different. We all want the same thing: To be happy, live, love, laugh; and we all deserve all of those things.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a recent member of this lovely community. It was recommended by a fellow traveler who had met up with some folks in Egypt whom were members of the CS community. I'm currently traveling, and intend to couchsurf while in DR, but I also look forward to providing other members of this community with a place to stay in my area. Humboldt County in Northern California is God's country. It is soooo beautiful! I went there 6 years ago to visit a friend, and never left. The Redwood trees are some of the tallest in the world, and the Pacific Ocean is absolutely amazing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have yet to experience couch surfing, as I just recently became a verified member. Most of my traveling accomodations have been with hostels and bed & breakfast. But, I am looking forward to this new experience. Meeting people with a shared love for traveling is always rewarding.
Intereses
I have many interests, as I'm usually up for anything new and exciting. As I mentioned before traveling is my main interest, but aside from that I like reading, sleeping, hiking, photography, movies, live theater, dinner parties, music, dancing, snorkeling, and art museums. I would love to learn how to surf, and horseback ride. Before I die, I want to scuba dive, bungee jump, and sky-dive.

Música, películas y libros
Some of my favorite books are : Don Quixote (in Spanish), The Alchimist, The Brief and Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao, and The Sun Also Rises.
Some of my favorite movies are: Pan's Labyrinth, Tombstone, Casablanca, El Otro Lado de la Cama, Legends of the Fall.
My taste in music is eclectic. If it sounds good, I'll listen to it.
Algo increíble que he hecho
The most amazing thing I have done, is spend 5 days in the Sahara Desert. We traversed the desert by day on camels, and stopped in the early evenings to campout with Berber tribes along the way. It was an out of this world experience. I learned how to get a camel to kneel: you say "oooooch" with a deep tone.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
Well, let's see, I'm bilingual (Spanish & English). I love to cook for friends. I'm a pretty good editor, and have been trained in the art of mediation. I can cut and style hair (was a cosmetologist in my early twenties).
I would love to learn how to surf and horseback ride. I'm also interested in collecting recipies for my personal cookbook.
