About Me

I'm a full-time political organizer in California. I travel primarily to give trainings, sometimes to attend training and conferences relating to activism, and rarely when a social movement flares up in an irresistible way. I am also vegan and love eating nourishing food with other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have taken too many trips where I don't make time to meet people and see the city I'm staying in, and I want to change that. Couchsurfing seems like the best way to do so!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love progressive rock and metal, and contemporary classical music. Favorite bands are Between the Buried and Me, the Mars Volta, Animals as Leaders, and Radiohead. Favorite composers are Grisey and Lutoslawski.

I don't watch many movies, but I love experimental films. David Lynch and Gaspar Noe are favorite directors.

I love postmodern literature, especially Thomas Pynchon and the like. I just bought some Calvino for a trip to Italy, including Invisible Cities and The Complete Cosmicomics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been arrested a few times at protests, mostly for animal liberation. I have openly rescued animals from industrial farms.

Teach, Learn, Share

I often travel to give trainings in the philosophy of Nonviolence, or in decentralized organizing structures. I'd love to learn about local art and music.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always bring my Shakuhachi when I travel, and would love to play music for hosts. If you don't know much about local art, I'll probably be able to show you around by the time I arrive as I usually do extensive research before arriving in a new place.
