I have a love for stories, songs, good food and drink, and wandering out in the woods. I'm more or less a hobbit. I'm currently working on a Master's degree in English Literature at the University of Toronto. I'm new to Ontario, having lived in Virginia for most of my life, and I'm eager to discover as much as I can about my new home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've found this to be a wonderful organization populated by people of incredible quality. Although I cannot host any couchsurfers right now (living with two others in a smallish apartment), I would be delighted to meet up with travelers passing through in order swap stories, songs, or even just recommendations for things to do in the city. My experiences in Toronto have been wonderful, and I would love to pass along as many as I can to eager adventurers.

Favorite Movies: "Trois Couleurs" trilogy, just about any movie by Kurosawa or Miyazaki.

Some Books: Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, the Consolation of Philosophy, Augustine's Confessions, the Tao Te Ching, most anything from Shakespeare, poetry by Gerard Manley Hopkins.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I have my guitar with me, I will happily share songs with you (or jam, if you like)! If I'm fretless, as it were, I'll make you a nice vegetarian meal or dessert - whatever strikes your fancy, whatever we can pull off.
