I am a third year undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am currently planning on attending medical school after graduation. I am currently double majoring in history and chemistry. Although I am passionate about being involved in the field of medicine, I love learning about the world's past and historical analysis has always been a fascinating subject field to me. At UNC I am actively playing for our Club Lacrosse program, participating in our pre-health honor's society (Alpha Epsilon Delta) under goings, and also providing research assistance for the Bioinformatics branch of UNC-Chapel Hill's Medical School. When I am not in Chapel Hill I reside at my hometown of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. This is right by the major port city of Wilmington, NC, where I commute constantly and also attended high school. In the summer I volunteer at local urgent cares and other medical settings, while also working at an after school program for a local church-school. Growing up on the beach I've came to love activities involving the water, such as surfing, tubing, and wake boarding.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my future, I want to travel a lot. In the present, it seems an opportunity to do so is fast approaching. I am currently studying at Freie Universität in Berlin to spend on a study abroad trip. While in Berlin, I want to use this opportunity to make use of my limited funds and find creative ways to traverse/explore as much of Europe and as I can, but without neglecting the beautiful country of Germany and the unique adventures Berlin offers on a daily basis of course. After that, I hope to be able to use CS to help other people enjoy their own travels when I get my first apartment in Chapel Hill this coming fall!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my trip to Ecuador following high school graduation I jumped off the infamous bridge in Baños with the aid of a bungee cord and also got the amazing experience of living in the Amazon for three days: complete with rope swinging above the forest and whitewater rafting in one of the Amazon River's tributaries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I share (beginning in Fall 2016) a living area with 3 other college students, all of which are aged twenty or twenty-one. While we do not have an extra bed, we do have a decent couch to crash on in this common area and I can always give up my own bed (and am more than willing to do so) for a night(s) if need be.
