About Me

I've been obsessed with maps, flags and cities since I was 4. Now that I'm not a kid, that has manifested in a love for culture, travel and exploration, particularly of off-the-beaten-path destinations (I love you, Kosovo). I'm more of an activity traveler than a sights traveler. For instance, I would far rather go mountain biking in a foreign country than see a historic sight. For me, it's about an experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just love culture. The more I travel, the more I realize that traveling is not about buildings and food, but about people. And to me, couch surfing is a bridge to a community, a way to really connect with people and dive head first into the place I'm visiting. Interesting buildings, good food and fun activities are always appreciated, but if you don't come to understand the soul of a city (its people), then why travel?
