About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Figuring out what's really important.
ABOUT ME
Western US ex-pat living in the heart of the colonial east. Love the history here and all of the culture, though some day I'll move back to the wild frontier. I'm big into music and the outdoors, though generally I don't think good things happen when you mix the two.
What else do I like? Hmmm...traveling's definitely up there. I'm learning to be a better cook, too. I'm also an avid runner, reader, and writer. I used to think politics were interesting but now I'm just another apathetic millennial. Oh, and it's very difficult for me to be spontaneous. Planing seems to be uncontrollable, though if I stay with you you're welcome to try and force me out at night without a plan!
Come stay with me or let me stay with you and I'm sure you'll get to know the real me much better than I can self-diagnose here.
Currently living with my incredible girlfriend and figuring out what I want to do professionally. Trying not to fall into the jaded trap, instead just taking life one step at a time and enjoying the days as they come.
PHILOSOPHY
Here's something I recently wrote to my brother for his graduation. I think it sums up my present philosophy pretty well:
Find something that gives you purpose and that ensures you took advantage of your chance to leave a positive mark on the world. Relationships always come first, then worry about money. Never think that there's such thing as a perfect job. Find something you believe in and give it your all. Nobody is happy all the time. What comes next will always be a mystery but as long as you're honest with yourself, the journey will not only all make sense some day but also give you something to be proud of."

Music, Movies, and Books
My tastes change too often to write all of them down here, so I can just tell you what I'm digging right now.
Music: Apache Relay, Panama Wedding, Amadou & Miriam, Broken Social Scene (always), London Grammar
Books: Infinite Jest, Sometimes a Great Notion, Budding Prospects. Currently slogging through Gravity's Rainbow and trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2009 I went helicopter skiing with my dad and brother in British Columbia. I've been watching my skiing idols do that for years, so to do it myself was both nerve racking and utterly awesome. Recently, I visited the ancient ruins in Philippi, Greece. Never before had I the opportunity to walk among a fallen empire, and to see how they lived. I'm not much of a religious enthusiast or Bible buff, but seeing physical evidence of events that are written down in the Bible was exciting for me.
