I've never had a couch-surfing experience (yet) via couchsurfing.org, but have hosted plenty of friends on my own couch and love being hospitable.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: The Matrix, The Big Lebowski, anything by Michel Gondry, Miranda July, Jonas Akerlund, Jeau-Pierre Jeunet or Tarantino, American Beauty, Ferris Bueller's Day Off...enjoy most things except horror. I love anything experimental and original, but can do low-brow as well.
Books: mostly non-fiction especially theology books and film theory. Fiction-wise I enjoy Zadie Smith, Wally Lamb and Sarah Waters. Need to read more
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took a year out from my studies to live and work in Montreal, which was undoubtedly the best year of my life. I got a great job, met some crazy people, went to loads of gigs, grew up a bit, fell in love, formed a band, and found God. It was quite a pivotal experience in my life. I'd love to go back some day; it's one of my favourite cities.
Teach, Learn, Share
Crochet, film theory, the many uses of bicarbonate of soda...
