About Me

Hi! I’m Aiko. I was born in Tokyo but spend more than 10 years in Osaka. During then, I moved to LosAngels and Hawaii. I was there each for 1-2 years and it was a great experiences for me! I love to learn new things(people, culture and food!) and I would like to hear the stories and share the experiences with new people from different countries in this little cozy town:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My bf Yuta hosted more than 100 guests and I met many interesting couchsurfers at his place! Now we are living together and ready to host at our new house in Kamakura!

Interests

[Traveling] I wanna meet a lot of people and experience the cultures of many countries! Now I’m interested in South France, Eastern/Northern Europe, Vietnam and Russia. [Trekking/Camping] Me and my bf like trekking and camping! If you have a tend and sleeping bag, I’ll take you camping and introduce you to the Japanese outdoor style if you like;)

Music, Movies, and Books

[Movies] Apollo13, Star Wars series, Roman holiday
[Books] Haruki Murakami, Jane Austen

Teach, Learn, Share

[Foods and Sake/Wine] I like cooking and I want to learn your countries traditional recipes! And I also teach you Japanese (and Hawaiian) recipes too:) I’m interested in finding a great pairing of foods and wine/sake/beer. It would be great if we can have a small dinner party together!! [Japanese tea ceremony/Sado] I’ve learned Sado(茶道) for 5 years and I can teach you how to make and serve green tea. In Sado, all the procedures such as how to enter the room, prepare tea and so forth are decided to be done beautifully and without unnecessary movement. I’ll show you my tea ceremony’s utensils such as tea bowl and tea whisk if you’re interested in Japanese culture!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, China, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Indonesia, Slovenia, South Korea, Taiwan, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
