关于我
CURRENT MISSION
Living a nomadic,eco- sustainable lifestyle;traveling the festival circuit; learning energetic healing. To Be in tune with the invitations serendipity presents, to authentically connect with others and be in a continual experience of gratitude and wonder.
ABOUT ME
I was born in Calgary, Alberta and I have lived there most of my life. I have a varied background of work experience which ranges from the restaurant/ hospitality industry to the horticultural industry, to the health and fitness industries. I was a self-employed fitness trainer and yoga instructor from 2005- 2009, and also worked part-time in retail health food/ nutritional supplement/ natural body care stores, while running my own business. My clients ranged from young professionals, to seniors, to busy middle-aged corporate career women with families. The highlight of my fitness training profession was running women's outdoor boot camps during all seasons (winter too!) and teaching yoga in outdoor parks.
In the spring of 2009, a series of challenging events occurred in all areas of my life. The "security" of a home and my excellent health was compromised and lost. I realized that these circumstances were a way of being asked to re-evaluate my life path and to experiment with a different way of life. I decided to leave Calgary and pursue a nomadic, minimal, lifestyle with 2 friends, whom I consider my "tribal family. We moved into a bus together, and we own a traveling tea shop, The Kindred Teahouse, which we set up and operate at various festivals and farmer's markets in Alberta and BC, throughout the summer.
My intention is to learn life skills for becoming "radically self-reliant", as an individual, and as a contributing member of community. My intention is to learn from a hands-on approach: how to grow organic food with permaculture and biodynamic farming practices; how to raise livestock such as goats and ducks for their products; how to build eco-homes using methods such as strawbale, adobe, cordwood, etc., including earthships; how to build "off-the-grid" alternative energy sources such as solar and wind based systems; and how to wildcraft with herbs/ medicinal mushrooms. I love to cook wholesome meals, so using organic produce and learning how to create vegan/vegetarian alternatives is of additional interest.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that the sacred exists in All things and in all moments. We have access to that spark of Divinity at all times because we ourselves are Divine Beings and are Source, Light and Love.
~
Empowerment is not something to be strove after for, or achieved. It is an inherent ability that I already am embodied with, and have full access to, at any time. The only requirement is to EXERCISE it! It is always with me because I have a free will and I always have a choice in any given situation. Being empowered is not a final destination. It is a continuous journey of self-examination and making choices that are not bound by the story the ego spins. To choose to take the higher path, even when it would be easier to take the path of least resistance, is an act of empowerment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As a nomad who lives and travels on a bus most of the time, and by foot, part of the time my intention is to connect with fellow couchsurfers by perhaps meeting up for a tea and cooking a meal together, when in town for a festival, or are passing through and on to our next one. If possible, it would be much appreciated to be able to borrow a shower and bathroom facilities (as we do not have these facilities on our humble bus!)and when traveling by foot or car, to have a place to stay. Most of all, my desire is to connect with others, learn about the area I am traveling through, and build a network of like-minded friends!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
At this point, I am new to this and have not delved into couchsurfing, but it is my intention to do so this upcoming early spring and onwards! I expect to be passing through the western USA (Oregon, California) and western Canada (Alberta, BC)...then eventually back into the USA and on to Mexico and Central America! My partner and I will be participating in an Earthship Internship program this spring and will also be at Burning Man, during our journey.

教,学,和分享
I feel I am a good listener. And when asked, I do have valuable insight to offer. I am very connected to my intuition and am willing to be of service to others who may be desiring a little guidance. I have taught yoga in the past and love to share my experience of a yogic way of life with others!
I want to learn how to build an earthship, a permaculture garden, "off-the-grid" energy systems and how to bring a conscious collective together to build an eco-community together.
