Overview
About Me
I am a fourth year medical student from Brown University in the United States, and I will graduate in 2018 to become a Doctor in Internal Medicine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This is the first time I will be traveling on my own and I'm looking to travel off the beaten path by meeting and learning from locals and sharing some great travel adventures and stories.
Interests
I have a passion for travel, with my bike as the preferred mode of transportation. I also enjoy learning new sports and just completed my first triathlon. I consider myself adventurous when it comes to food. Rather than following recipes step-by-step, I experiment to add my own touch to each dish. I am also always open to trying new, bizarre foods, which have included live ants and durian (world’s smelliest fruit). I enjoy reading all genres, but The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien is my favorite book of all time.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy more times than I can count and grew up dominating the Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit Board Game, though I am now a bit rusty since starting medical school. My other top movies include Gladiator, The Matrix, Django Unchained, and Up.
My favorite book is the Hobbit. I also love The Kite Runner, The Green Mile, Pride and Prejudice, and many others. I just finished reading the Disaster Artist, and am currently reading The Sympathizer, a story about a communist spy from the Vietnam War.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2014, I biked over 4,000 miles across the United States, from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic. Despite not having much biking experience and never owning a road bike before, I, along with two other companions, was able to complete this self-supported journey in 81 days.
Teach, Learn, Share
I took four years of Spanish in high school and college, but never had the opportunity to really practice it, so I'm looking forward to immersing myself in Spanish as I travel throughout Spain.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm really looking forward to sharing travel stories with my hosts, learning more about them and where they are from, and sharing my own adventure stories with them.
