About Me

I've just started travelling around Southeast Asia and hope to be here for a few months! I love talking to people and learning about different cultures and religions. I'm also just starting to learn Italian and hope to live in Italy for a while one day. Before I started travelling, my job involved writing environmental assessments, managing social media accounts and helping at marine conservation events for children.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Cultural exchange and to meet more people

Interests

I have had a fascination with sharks and the marine world since I was a child. This year I'm hoping to do more diving and learn to free dive. I love painting, particularly with watercolours, and have brought my paints with me on this trip. I have played water polo for about 10 years and find it challenging, but really fun as well. I've just started to do a bit more yoga, meditation and practice mindfulness.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When volunteering on a whale shark research project in the Maldives, I was lucky enough to see a family of orcas from the boat, which was incredible to watch! They swam underneath the dhoni and we saw them breach at the surface as well. Nature never ceases to amaze me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, help around the house, help teach or answer questions about marine life and conservation, help with computer issues, arts and crafts
