Overview
About Me
I'm very outgoing and love introducing people to all that Buffalo has to offer. I enjoy conversation, board games, and outdoor adventures.
So far I have hosted one couchsurfer, and it was a great experience, but right now I'm too busy to host someone overnight (although I might in the future). That said, I have lots of recommendations and might be interested in meeting up. If you're traveling to see Niagara Falls, don't skip the city of Buffalo - you will be missing out!
I've lived in six states and have traveled to six countries (plus Hawaii and Puerto Rico). I would love to travel more often if I had more time and money!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to make new friends. It would also be fun to meet international travelers so I can work on practicing my language skills. (I am pretty good at Spanish - as long as you speak slowly! - and I can understand a little bit of Italian and French.)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love rap and hip-hop, dance music, 80s New Wave, 90s alternative, and some indie/folk music.
I used to be more of a cinephile... my favorite movies are usually offbeat or artsy or talky or sci fi or foreign. It's hard to discover new films these days because everything on the streaming services seems to be TV (although I love that, too!).
I have a Ph.D. in English - I studied 19th- and 20th-century American literature (but for fun I prefer to read contemporary literary fiction).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Met a penguin in Galápagos.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not sure what this category is supposed to be...? Um, I'm very good at copy-editing and fairly decent at cooking! I'd like to learn a lot of things, like yoga, dancing, painting, etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My sparkling wit, haha.
