About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't look back, you're not headed that way...

ABOUT ME

Sharing a drink/evening/journey with a dear friend is just as satisfying wandering life's road alone. I'm a solo traveler at heart and a junkie for plot twists. I credit all of the people I've met along the way for opening my eyes and mind to new perspectives... and continuously challenging me to redefine my personal boundaries.

PHILOSOPHY

We must know when it is time to move to the next step in our own experience, secure in what we are desiring as a final outcome and not regretting our choices.

Understanding the large picture allows us to move through life causing minimal negative impact to people or places. Conscious and intentional intake of life yields positive benefits for all parties involved.

After all, we all are here experiencing different versions of the same thing. Life...Being invited into someone's reality is a privelege... that experience should be treated with respect, and appreciated for its value (sometimes I feel we lose sight of this). Every person and every experience is enriching.

We are all woven together in collective conciousness of memories, histories, and knowledge. There are no such thing as borders or boundaries they are merely illusion. Building greater understanding and appreciation of the connection between people, places, and experiences is one of the most important goals in life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Film:

I have an affinity for Czech stop-motion animation and surrealism, I prefer a nice mind bend. I have hopes to be a director, because execution is the real art-- I enjoy Jodorowsky, Bunuel, Linklater, Altman, Russell Svankmajer, Argento, Bergman, Lynch, Miyazaki.

Music:

New Wave, Dark Wave, Cold Wave, Synth, Shoegaze, Kraut Rock, Glam Rock, Balkan Roma, Mande, Cumbia, Minimalist, and... David Bowie. I appreciate music that makes me feel, also loud rhythms that encourage movement.

I like to play with musical instruments too and would love to learn anything you are willing to teach me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a strange sense that everything is going to be alright.

One night in Greece I took a ferry from Santorini to Crete without booking a place to stay. Not a very smart move as we arrived at night... A fellow traveller tipped me off about a squat that was behind the local technical university, as he didn't know of any hostels.

Iraklio (the main port) has some rough spots, not the kind of place a single female traveler should be walking around alone at night... but, fate would have it I found my way there on the last bus out.

The people there were welcoming though obviously undert the influence of some less than savory substances. I spent most of the night sleeping upright in a chair (bed looked like a crime scene). There were chicken bones on the floor and hundreds of fleas. Made it out in one piece though...

Strange night... wouldn't trade it for the world. That's the kind of stuff that makes travel worthwhile.
