About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the world as I can....preferably the hard-to-reach spots....

ABOUT ME

I'm a 25 year old student who lives to travel and create or find adventures. I love Jesus (: I love meeting people of different nationalities and backgrounds. I'm Dutch/Spanish, but was born and raised in Colorado and California and have moved over 30 times! I currently am studying Spanish in San Sebastian, Pais Vasco, Spain. I am a little bit Basque - AND the surfing and mountains are amazing and rugged ... and CLOSE. As in, I live right next to the surfing beach. I LOVE it here!!

I love to share my experiences and adventures with people and hear about theirs (: I hope to go to all the crazy back-corner spots of the world that most people never see. I want to go to India, Thailand, Africa, Australia....and then find all the non-tourist areas and explore.

I'm an artist/pianist, and surf, swim laps for hours in the ocean (seriously,) play tennis, run, hike, and love pretty much anything outdoors. um....that's about it for more, check out web.mac.com/aimeeaileen. I'm not selling anything(: just lots of picts and travel stories for you to enjoy!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a born-again Christian, and I love Jesus! Best company in the world no matter where you are in the world (: He's who I live for, and this adds a sort of zest and passion to know everything is for a reason and that He has every detail in His hands. Even those crazy missed-the-last-flight sort of moments.

Motto? ¨Just wing it.¨ I tend to risk things. Alot. take chances; weight out if it's worth it and then give 150%. Take the bus even if you might not make the connection. If you do, it'll be worth it; if you don't, something else will come up. Love beauty. Love adventure. Love helping people. yay for adrenalin.... (:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

o man. that's a tough one. For spring "break" a few weeks ago, I took a bus (yes bus,) to turkey from northern spain - alone, unplanned, kind of scared, and with a pair of crutches since I'd just blown out my knee again. Oh yes, and a good pair of Aladdin bloomers (: 3 nights in a bed out of 2 weeks of traveling. It was one of the most vagabond and ill-planned and amazing trips I've ever taken in my life. You really form a bond with people after a couple days on a bus together - there was this one, amazing Romanian woman who had everyone in stitches laughing, and made the whole high-on-travel/lack-of-sleep bus seem like a family when at first everyone was all wary of eachother. And that was just GETTING to Turkey. All in all, it was the most amazing trip I'm happy to have I lived through (:
