Overview
About Me
I've just wrapped up a mechanical engineering degree at Portland State University and will be working as a design engineer for DTNA. I love the outdoors and traveling wherever and whenever I can. I am originally from Alaska and love to talk about my state (everyone should visit, it's awesome). I love trying new things, especially when it comes to outdoor activities and food.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel I love the idea of staying with locals. I really want to learn about the places I'm going from the viewpoint of those who live there and I feel like Couchsurfing is a great way to get that experience.

Outdoor activities: Skiing (telemark and cross country), horse back riding (dressage and show jumping), hiking, diving, and trail running.

Music, Movies, and Books
As for music, I am a fan of pretty much anything and everything. Jazz, old school rap / hip hop, classical, island, movie scores, 50's style swoon and croon, 60's rock, etc.
When it comes to books, I'm a bit of a fantasy lover. Brandon Sanderson is my all-time favourite author. Though I do like a good classic read every now and again.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I graduated with my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a job offer lined up. I'm pretty happy about that. Especially considering I had no idea if I even had what it took to get through engineering school. But hey, hard work pays off!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a lot of fun stories about growing up in Alaska and going to school in Portland. I also really enjoy baking so if you have a bunch of frozen bananas in your freezer that need to be used, I can definitely make you some delicious banana bread. Or some tasty scones!
