About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel, write, live life bravely and beautifully.
ABOUT ME
I am originally from Southern California, but have called many different places my home: a college dorm room in tiny town Wisconsin, brownstone apartment in Chicago, hippie cooperative in Tucson Arizona, organic farm in Southern Indiana, lovely flat in beautiful Barcelona, more organic farms in the Spanish countryside.. and on and on. I like to try new things, challenge myself, and have had lots of different jobs-- political organizing work, taking kids on wilderness backpacking trips, farm work, brain numbing 9-5 office job, waitress, and teaching English abroad. I think that moving to another country is one of the most exhilarating, and surreal challenges a person can undertake in life. I recently moved to the rainy Pacific Northwest. I live in Portland, Oregon where I enjoy the farmers markets, excellent local beer, and go to school to become a massage therapist.
PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I had the pleasure of surfing many great European couches in Germany, Hungary, Spain, and Argentina so far, also meeting up with people for drinks or coffee in new cities. Unable to host at the moment, but would love to meet up with travelers passing through Portland for good food, drinks, and conversation.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Amazing! I've met good people through this organization, traveling and while living in Barcelona as well. This is a wonderful way to meet people around the world and build community.

Music, Movies, and Books
Bookworm. Love reading them, talking about them, falling asleep next to them ;), including, but not limited to TC Boyle, Arundhati Roy, Isabelle Allende, Tom Robbins, Michael Chabon, David Sedaris, David Foster Wallace, and on and on. I also enjoy a lot of random non fiction. I adore Sylvia Plath. Music-- depends-- soul music, old sad twangy country sounding music (Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Magnolia Electric Co.) 80's and new wave, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, New Order, Madonna before she plucked her eyebrows, and on and on..

Teach, Learn, Share
I teach English, but two things I am actually interested in teaching are yoga and cooking (vegetarian). I'm always looking for people to practice my Spanish with-- so language exchange inquiries for Spanish/ English are welcome!
