我做过的一件不可思议的事情

In Hawaii, I grew up around tourism. Since immigrating from Japan, my parents started a small business of scuba diving tours. Memories of home have a distinctive soundtrack of interns bustling to washing scuba equipment, tourists being corralled to their surfboards, and my father teaching a comedic rendition of PADI lessons. Our home is an inn which we lovingly call a bed-and-barbeque. Visitors come and go, and often share a meal with my parents and me. The tourists who stay with us are often different from
those who decide to stay in one of the many hotels in our area. We understand that they enjoy experiencing our tropical lifestyle, and in turn, we enjoy hearing their personal stories.
