ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm a 25-year-old just graduated physicisian from Finland. The last 5 years I've pretty much travelled constantly. I've interrailed all across Europe, and took a gap year of my studies for roaming Asia for 4 months. I'm right now doing a rather long trip to celebrate my graduation, and have been dancing salsa for one month in Cuba, Habana. Next going for Costa Rica for a month and then a few weeks still in the US. Hope to meet new people via CS during this time, for I have only positive experiences from CS while hosting.

As a person I'm very outgoing and some people even say I'm hyperactive, but although I always enjoy a good party, I also like to pass time talking with a cup of coffee. Everything goes really. I normally do a lot of sports, listen to music, read books, normal things. My new passion is dancing salsa, and I'm always always ready for a dance.

PHILOSOPHY

I know it's a cliché, but my philosophy in short is to seize the moment. Not just thinking of doing something, but doing it. I don't want to let opportunities slip and later look back and regret. Because of this I try to stay open-minded and spontaneus as much as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Started hosting and love it! During traveling up until now I've only stayed in hostels and student residences, but I'll definitely start surfing during my future travels.

Music: Everything with a lating vibe, right now especially the great names of salsa like los Van Van and Havana D'Prmera, but also Bob Marley, Bon Iver, Björk, David Bowie, Interpol, Mew, Muse, Gotan Project, Arcade Fire, Tom Waits, Radiohead, Rage against the Machine, Tool etc.

Movies: Spanish movies at the moment, like Mar adentro, También la lluvia, films of Almodóvar.

Books of: Haruki Murakami, Khaled Hosseini, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Erlend Loe, Terry Pratchett, the Bronte sisters, Jane Austen, Juha Itkonen, Kari Hotakainen etc.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

There's actually three: Paragliding high above the mountain lakes of Slovenia, hiking in the rainforests of Malaysia (and getting lost), and diving at night in the beautiful coral reefs of Ko Tao Thailand. And now enjoying the matineas of salsa in the night of Havana.
