About Me

I am easy-going with a little bit of a spicy/snarky but sweet sense of humor. I enjoy thought-provoking conversations about different topics particularly related to social issues, playing the piano every so often, writing, spending time out in nature, yoga (including acroyoga), meditation, hiking, rock climbing, live music, dancing (especially partial to belly dancing and ecstatic dance),standup and improv, etc. I prefer eating lots of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, and some forms of meat occasionally but lean more towards a vegetarian/vegan diet. I don’t drink often these days but do enjoy a good beer or mixed drink sometimes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm interested in traveling to different places around the world, meeting new people, and hopefully making some wonderful friendships in the process!

Music, Movies, and Books

all forms of reggae, soca, various forms of jazz, blues, jungle/tribal house, RnB, hip-hop, salsa, merengue, samba, bellydance music, some techno, alternative rock, indie rock, classical (particularly piano and guitar), classic country, folk, etc. I’m definitely open to discovering new forms of music I’ve not yet heard. I can pretty much find something in most any style of music I hear that speaks to me on a deeper level. Books: science fiction, health and wellness, philosophy... I’ll pretty much read anything that seems thought provoking. I enjoy reading a romance novel here and there too. Movies: pretty much the same

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went skydiving once.

Teach, Learn, Share

Within the last 2 to 3 years of my life, I have experienced a very dramatic, beautiful shift in perspective. This shift in perspective has created a deeper sense of connection and love for people with whom I come in contact. I want to teach, share with, and continue learning from others how to relate authentically through the practice of self empathy, compassion, and love. Emotional intelligence is something I highly value. This is the philosophy of my life today, and it is something about which i feel deeply convicted. By extension, I believe this practice has allowed me to better empathize, show compassion for, and gift a more wholesome expression of love to others with fewer judgments, assumptions, and preconceived notions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very clean, neat, and respectful of other people's belongings. I believe in treating other people with true appreciation. To me, kindness and love is the only real solution that will bring about healing in the world.
