I could write you a long list with a good movies but the most memorable is ,,Children of heaven", ,,Big fish", ,,One flew over the cuckoos nest" and most of the films with Tom Hanks, Robin Williams and Woody Allen, films directed by Jim Jarmusch, Jean-Pierre Jeunet
I prefer old good literature like Erich Maria Remarque, Thomas Mann, Franz Kafka, Albert Camus
With music is more complicate because it's really depend from mood but always a good choice is some jazz(acid) music.
